In short: Creakwise does not collect, store on our servers, or share any data about you. It works entirely on your Mac.

What the app processes on your Mac

• Lid angle. The app reads your MacBook's built-in lid angle sensor to play sounds and draw the optional screen effect. The reading is used on the spot and stays on your Mac. It is not saved or sent anywhere.
• Your settings. Your choices (sound on or off, sound pack, volume, screen effect, pause shortcut, menu layout, and whether setup is finished) are saved in the app's local preferences on your Mac. They never leave your device.

What we do not collect

• No personal information, account details, contacts or location.
• No usage analytics, advertising identifiers or crash-reporting software. The app does not send crash data itself. Any crash reports you choose to share with developers go through Apple's own system settings, not through Creakwise.
• No screen content. Creakwise does not use Screen Recording and does not capture or record your screen. The screen effect is drawn on top of the built-in display only.
• No audio recording. Sounds are generated by the app and played out; the app does not use your microphone.

Network and third parties

Creakwise makes no network connections. It has no accounts, no analytics or crash-reporting software, and no third-party advertising or tracking. No data is shared with or sold to anyone. If you choose to email us for support, we use your message only to reply to you.

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and user agent) for security and operations. The site uses no analytics or cookies (Cloudflare Web Analytics is not enabled).

Children

Because the app collects no data, it collects none from children. Creakwise is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this page and its effective date before the change ships.
